About PDFHope

Why PDFHope exists and how its local-first PDF tools are built.

A calmer way to work with PDFs

PDFHope is an independent PDF utility project built around a simple idea: common document tasks should be fast, understandable, and private by default.

The current product focuses on browser-based workflows that do not need a file-processing server. That keeps the architecture lean and gives people direct control over their documents.

How we choose features

A tool ships only when it can provide a real result with honest limitations. We do not label visual overlays as permanent redaction, claim impossible compression, or imply that a heuristic is a certainty.

Advanced features that require secure server infrastructure, licensed technology, or independent auditing remain on the internal roadmap until they can be delivered responsibly.
